Making your event WCP&D amazing

Your event is our event

The Wiltshire Caledonian Pipes & Drums band can be booked for International, National, Charity and Private events.  We give the same commitment and attention to detail to every event where we perform, because your event is our event too.

“We hired the Wiltshire Caledonia Pipe Band for our garden wedding in Dorset in June 2025.

We had a solo piper to pipe us out of the church, then a half pipe band to play everyone into the marquee reception. The whole band were incredible. Everything was organised, and straight forward and it was a brilliant performance. Our guests were blown away by the whole experience. I couldn’t recommend the Wiltshire Caledonian Pipes & Drums  more for any occasion!

Angus Fraser”

Weddings

The Wiltshire Caledonian Pipes & Drums will work directly with you, or with your wedding planners to ensure that we make your very special day one to remember.  Absolutely no detail is too small and we have designed performances which are suitable for Cathedrals and stately homes, to village churches.

We also take part in special events like 'The Big Bang & Blow' where we assemble with other pipers and drummers to perform at London's main rail stations to raise funds for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Hogmanay - New Year's Eve

Hogmanay celebrations in Scotland, and increasingly the rest of the UK are deeply rooted in tradition and cultural heritage, and the inclusion of a bagpiper is a defining feature that enhances the event's authenticity and emotional impact. The sound of bagpipes is central to the festivities, symbolising Scottish pride, unity, and resilience, and is especially prominent as the clock strikes midnight. The playing of "Auld Lang Syne" by a piper at this moment is a powerful, reflective tradition that unites guests in welcoming the new year.

Beyond the music, the visual presence of a piper in full ceremonial Highland dress—complete with a kilt in clan tartan, sporran, Prince Charlie jacket, Glengarry hat, and ghillie brogues—creates a striking spectacle that adds gravitas and pageantry to the celebration. This iconic image is not only a nod to centuries of Scottish history but also a focal point for photos and memories. The piper’s role extends beyond the midnight moment; they can welcome guests at the start of the evening, lead processions, or perform during key events such as dinners or receptions, thereby shaping the atmosphere throughout the night. Whether at private house parties, hotels, or large public events like Edinburgh’s street festivals, the presence of a bagpiper ensures that the Hogmanay experience is elevated, meaningful, and unforgettable.

For the Wiltshire Caledonian Pipes & Drums this is one of our busiest nights of the year with all of our active Pipers & Drummers deployed.

Given the high demand for pipers during New Year’s Eve, bookings are often made over a year in advance. So if you would like to book one of our Pipers for your New Year's Eve event, then don't wait to contact us.

Funerals

The Wiltshire Caledonian Pipes & Drums band offers a deeply moving and dignified presence at funerals and memorials, rooted in a long-standing tradition of honouring the departed. Our music, characterised by the haunting and mournful sound of the Great Highland Bagpipes, evokes a profound sense of respect and solemnity, making it a powerful tribute to the deceased.

This tradition traces its origins to the Scottish and Irish custom of playing bagpipes at funerals, a practice that has since become a standard for honouring fallen firefighters, police officers, and military personnel.

The band’s performances are not merely musical; they are ceremonial acts of remembrance, helping families and communities process grief while ensuring that the memory of the departed is honoured with dignity.

Hiring the Wiltshire Caledonian Pipes & Drums means assurance of trust: a professional and talented Piper performing for your loved one, offering a heartfelt, timeless expression of honour, respect, and remembrance.
